heard the news yet? yes the itouch has become absolutely amazing. listen to music, watch videos, play games, have contacts, use the calendar, write notes, send texts, and now...you can make phone calls. this would completely render cell phones useless ALMOST. now, before you start foaming at the mouth, remember that you can only use most apps with wifi. so no wifi equals no fun. but all you have to do is buy an app and you can text for free. next, comes a new app that lets you make phone calls. Toktumi is the company(haha get it?) and through them you can get unlimited calling for 15$ a month in wifi zones. however, although this cloud seems to have all silver lining, there are a few downsides. in call there is this faint buzzing noise(the company says its just to let you know you are in call still, for comfort) and also, understanding the app is a nightmare. with several difficult ways to set it up, and lots of routing and number selection, id easily get confused. on the up side, i hear that the clarity of the call is AMAZING and if you have an iphone, the calls dont use up your minutes. i am still not 100% sure how this app works...so im not recommending it, although it does sound fantastic :)

Subliminal Messages?

One thing i can honestly say i have never considered is the product placement in movies and media. Perhaps clothing...but other than that i dont really notice. however, just seeing the products, is that putting a small message in my mind that maybe im not noticing? take lady gaga's new vid. she has coke cans in her hair as rollers. by just seeing the coke can, is that affecting me? im not sure,but i certainly want to find out. several things in her new video are brand name. however the one thing that i did happen to really notice was the miracle whip bottle. typically, dont music vids use unlabeled thing so we can get the gist of it? plus it has to suck if they paid for this because idk personally, im not going to switch to virgin mobile or fake mayo just because lady gaga had it in her video...but thats just a thought

JD Salinger...Died

so as im sure most of you have read catcher in the rye, being in high school, you know of all the controversy that surrounds the book. many have moral problems with it as the main character, Holden, indulges in drinking, sexual activities(or at least he acts like he does, and swearing like crazy. the book was actually rejected several times before it was published...and today, Holden would be seventy five years old. but still the book is in school systems...although i detest swearing, i mean i understand why the book is important. holden does some serious soul searching during the book, whether the reader consciously realizes it or not. after reading the book i walked away with this puzzle in my mind...i wanted, no i HAD to figure out holden. i couldnt understand what he was looking for, why he was the way he was...etc. i have never been the kid to get in trouble, why did he so much? but then you come to realize that really, its like life, all of us looking for what we want and trying to get it...but Salinger was very particular about his work, many have wanted to make the book into a movie or write sequels, all to no avail. so the recluse offer declined his fame and lived quietly until his death brought him back into the media

so i like google as much as the next girl, but i have to admit, yahoo's homepage is better. as soon as you get to the page, you have all these articles that are generally interesting to read. i mean, sure there are you standard ones about housing, stocks, etc that bore the heck out of a teenager like me but sometimes there is truly something interesting to read. like today, i look at all the titles and bam! theres one that says: 15 things you never noticed on a dollar. personally im a very curious person and if there is some symbolism somwhere in some way, id like to know about it. and the article was pretty good, pointing out some things that i have never noticed...i recommend reading the article, however i do NOT recommend looking it up on google or other search engines, it comes up with a lot of weird stuff bound to make you paranoid over nothing...

Rockband:Green Day?

hey everyone so i understand the whole rockband beatles deal....its cool, i get it. the beatles are legend, amazing in their day and still rockin on. but green day? seriously? since when does the punk rock band chalk up to the english rock band the beatles? personally, i think green day has become a band of the past, only throwing out songs that actually make it to the radio every once in awhile and honestly, 21 guns is the worst so far...someone knock some sense into the makers of rockband please! for the good of the people...dont settle for less than the legends of the music industry

New Years Eve!

this year im particularly excited for new years. its a fresh start to a new year and i good way to forget about the mistakes and bad moments of this year, but also to reflect on all the good ones too. im so thankful for my family and friends for being great. though ive lost a few friends this year, ive gained a tremendous amount. also to mark the start of this new year, haha im actually going to play basketball for my stake's women's team...lol who would have thought it? i figured that itd be something to do rather than hang around the house after school all day and give me a chance to work out without really working out lol. im especially missing volleyball and i wish i could have it all year round. today was quite fun, i spent a good portion of it at the roswell stake center decorating for the new years eve dance tonight :) its going to be great, hopefully even more fun than last years. im a little tired though now, especially since the rosweel stake syc didnt help decorate, but hey, whatever i guess(they can clean it all up lol) so thats what ill be doing tonight. anyways i hope everyone has a great night tonight, happy new years!

so i had already started typing this post when randomly my laptop decides to pull up my facebook profile. turns out i was logged in and someone was messaging me. but anyways today has just been a day of hanging around the house playing with all the various items we recieved for christmas. im still playing with my new laptop and hunter is playing a mario game on the wii...its that new one thats supposed to be like the old school mario brothers however im sad to say that while it does have the characteristics it has all these new features that just take away from the original game which i gretl prefer. if you SAY the game is the old school mario brothers then i think that it should actually be 100%...there are levels on this game that dont even exist in the other one. i do like that you have to turn the wii controller to the side to play though, it gives off more of a gameboy feel. at least to me. now time to just count down the days until new years...woohoo?

today has just been the usual hanging around the house sort of day...im still playing around with my new laptop and my other siblings are dividing their time between the wii and the candy they got in their stockings.

so rather than mess around with my old blog, which i didnt ever update or pay attention to, i though id just make a new one. and thanks to my new laptop(thanks Santa) ill be able to actually post stuff more often. as we all know, today is christmas and my family has had a wonderful day and plenty of family time. we got some land (dont worry, its very close to our house) so my parents can build their dream home, and what can i say? they deserve it and i really hope it turns out the way they dream it will. as long as i get my tree house :) and yes, i am seventeen and want to build a tree house...anyways merry christmas to all and i hope that you have had an amazing day :D love yall
